Speak With a Cosmetic Dentist About Improving Your Smile

Cosmetic DentistA cosmetic dentist is the best person to help you get the smile you have always been dreaming of. While there are popular, and sometimes well founded, ideas about cosmetic dentistry being extraordinarily expensive, it is far from the truth.  Often we can help you to reach your goals of a better smile over the course of several months by taking incremental steps to get you there, ensuring that the procedures are affordable. Like anything, cosmetic dentists are bound by your time and what results you want to achieve, but if you have a realistic timeline and are sure of the goals you want to attain, we can come up with a comprehensive plan that fits within your budget and eventually gets you to the place where you have the smile that you want.

As a cosmetic dentist, we understand that the battle for beautiful teeth is a battle of inches, not miles. The mouth is a very small space, and so our work is often measured in the millimeters or the tenth of a millimeter. We have learned that, while it is sometimes prudent to take bigger steps, smaller steps can also have the same exact results. The goal for us, as a cosmetic dentist, is to work backwards. We start with your goals, what perfection looks like to you, and work backwards laying out a step by step process that you can follow with us which gets you from where you are today, to where you want to be at the end of the treatments. We say treatments because there could be several procedures that work in tandem to get you the results you desire. Some of the more common treatments that we perform on a daily basis in our offices are –

  • Bonding: Tooth bonding is one of the easier and most cost-effective ways to repair teeth. Using a tooth-colored material, we can correct minor problems like cavities, chips in the tooth, and even discoloration. We can also use this method to correct spaces, which are often unsightly, between teeth. In some cases, we can use bonding to cover the entire tooth, which then changes the shape and color of the tooth completely. Bonding is often used in conjunction with tooth shaping.
  • Tooth shaping: Teeth sometimes grow in at strange angles. They have been known to overlap other teeth, grow longer or shorter than the teeth around them, and grow in a way that leaves strange looking spaces between the teeth. As a cosmetic dentist, we use a method called tooth shaping or tooth contouring, to correct some of these challenges. Typically done on your visit, we will need to make sure that your teeth are healthy enough to be reshaped in this manner and will take x-rays of your teeth to make sure.
  • Veneers and Crowns.  These two solutions can be used to transform the appearance of your teeth, close gaps in between teeth, restore damaged ones, and even make crooked teeth appear straight.

As a cosmetic dentist, we have a variety of solutions that we can use to improve the appearance of your smile so call and schedule an exam to learn what will work for you.
